Sushma Rajesh has been designated as vice president, marketing. Previously, Rajesh was in-charge of overseeing the channel's programming. She has been with the channel since its inception (2011).
Rajesh's background in strategy and research helped pave the way. She fills a position left vacant by Pratik Seal, who went off to head Star Utsav in December last year. Meanwhile, Yubaraj Bhattacharya will now head programming. In his earlier role, he was creative director at the channel.
Both Bhattacharya and Rajesh will report to Thakur. Prior to joining Life OK, Bhattacharya was CEO of Mahuaa TV, before which he worked at Star Jalsha as creative director. He was also part of the team that launched STAR Ananda. Bhattacharya started his career as a media planner at Starcom and then moved into account management. In the past, Bhattacharya has also held the position of head, Black Magic Motion Pictures, a production house.
Rajesh, on the other hand, has been with Star India for a decade. Her roles included being head, channel strategy at Star India (February 2011-December 2012), AVP, content engine (October 2010-February 2011), AVP, consumer insights (June 2009 - September 2010) and senior manager (research and strategic planning) at Star India. She has handled operations at Star Plus, Star Pravah, Star Jalsha and Star Utsav during this time. Before joining Star India, she was with IMRB International. Rajesh holds a master's degree in communication studies, media research from the University of Pune.
