Minakshi Achan has opted out of Salt Brand Solutions, a creative agency she co-founded three years back, along with Mahesh Chauhan.
Confirming the news to afaqs!, Achan says, "I have reviewed my decision to be an entrepreneur on every anniversary since we launched. On our third anniversary, I decided to opt out."
Achan misses what she calls "the big canvas" and "the stage to do visible work." These are her biggest reasons for deciding to "put aside the adventure of entrepreneurship and rejoin the corporate world." However, we don't know which corporate firm or agency she is referring to.
About her relationship with former partner Mahesh Chauhan, she says, "Mash (as he is known within the industry) and I have chosen to stay friends, but not business partners. It has been an exciting journey and I leave Salt as a dynamic, young, growing organisation."
Says Mash on the matter, "We are no longer business partners… but we are friends for life."
Before launching Salt, Achan was with Rediffusion-Y&R. She spent the last three years of her 11 year stint at the agency as chief creative officer. Note that Chauhan is also a former Rediffusion hand; he quit the agency in December 2010; he was group CEO at the time.
Achan, an alumnus of IIM Bengaluru, has 23 years of industry experience. Some of the brands she has worked on in the course of her career include Nano (Tata Motors), Airtel, LG, McDowell's, Xylys (Titan), among several others.
