News Express' Amit Tripathi joins Focus TV
He has joined the company as national sales head and COO - Focus Bangla and Focus NE.
Amit Tripathi, former chief operating officer of News Express, has joined Focus TV as the COO for its Bangla and North East channel - Focus Bangla and Focus NE. Besides, he is also the national sales head of the overall network.
Before joining India News, Tripathi had set up Cent Percent Media Solutions, an outsourcing advertising sales organisation with its core focus on regional and niche TV channels, with former Zee News CEO Barun Das.
He handled sales for India News while being in Cent Percent Media and later he joined India News as sales head. Prior to that, Tripathi was with Zee News. He had joined the Zee Network in January, 2006 as SVP, sales and was later promoted as EVP, sales in April 2008. He quit the company in February, 2013.
He had earlier worked with Times Television Network's Zoom (as regional manager), Sahara TV (as senior manager), Satyam Infoways (as regional manager) and Zee Telefilms (as assistant vice-president).
For the record, Focus TV Group broadcasts six television channels across India - Focus News (Hindi), Focus Haryana and regional channels that broadcast in Oriya, Bangla, Assamese and an entertainment channel in the North East called Focus Hi Fi.
