Star Plus is the biggest gainer of the week, thanks to Big Star Entertainment Awards. The Hindi GEC hierarchy remains unchanged in the week.
Star Plus began the year with a great performance. The channel, as per TAM data (C&S, 4+, HSM) became the biggest gainer in the first week of 2015.
Colors held its second position strong. The Viacom18 channel ended the week with 519544 GVTs, up from the previous week's 492307 GVTs. It had aired Shah Rukh Khan-hosted 'Got Talent World Stage Live' on December 31, a show that fetched a viewership of 6195 TVTs. Three of its shows appeared in the most watched shows' chart.
Sab's flagship show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma continues to be the most watched show in the genre. The channel also launched 'The Great Indian Family Drama' last week. The show rated 2068 TVTs in its debut week. The sixth position went to Sony Entertainment Television. It recorded 264461 GVTs in the week ended January 3. The channel had closed the previous week with 236682 GVTs.
Rishtey ended the week with 67229 GVTS (last week 63653), Zindagi with 28232 GVTs (last week 28541), Sony Pal with 26254 GVTs (last week 23007), Sahara One with 12940 GVTs (last week 13001) and Epic with 6330 GVTs (last week 5281 GVTs).
A look at the shows...
Star Plus' Diya Aur Baati Hum, Big Star Entertainment Awards and Yeh Hai Mohabbatein were the top three shows in the genre with 10641 TVTs, 9910 TVTs and 9078 TVTs respectively.
At No.4 is Zee TV's Kumkum Bhagya that clocked 8508 TVTs in week 1 of TAM 2015. It was followed by Sab TV's Taarak Mehta..., which ended the week with 8006 TVTs.
The next two spots went to Star Plus' Saathiya Saath Nibhana and Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai that registered 7949 TVTs and 7660 TVTs in the week, respectively. Colors' Sasural Simar Ka (7346 TVTs), Udaan (6877 TVTs) and Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi (6703 TVTs) brought up the last three spots.
