Ogilvy's VP Planning Ayan Banik quits

He joined the agency in 2010 as senior planning director.

Ayan Banik, vice president - planning, Ogilvy & Mather has put in his papers, confirmed highly placed sources to afaqs! His next move is still not known. Banik joined Ogilvy as senior planning director in 2010 and was promoted to vice president, planning in 2013. Prior to Ogilvy, he was working with Saatchi & Saatchi.

Having started his 14 year long career with Hive Communication, Banik has worked with agencies like Bates Enterprise, JWT and Saatchi & Saatchi. At Ogilvy, he had played a pivotal role in both handling and winning some key business accounts such as Honda Mobilio, National Skill Development Corporation and J&K Tourism.

He handled myriad of brands across agencies including names like Pernod Ricard, Philips, Dabur, Mother Dairy, Honda, KFC and Ministry of Tourism among others.

He was awarded the National Planner Of The Year in 2011 in the Ogilvy system. Banik also won the WPP Partnership in Practice Award in 2014.

It is to be noted that Ogilvy & Mather India has recently announced a new management structure effective March 1, 2015. Apart from promotions, the agency has also expanded its board. Kunal Jeswani has been promoted to CEO, Hufrish Birdy to CFO, Kawal Shoor to national planning director at Ogilvy & Mather India. Hephzibah Pathak will assume a new role of global clients' director.
