Rajit Mehta promoted as MD and CEO of Max Healthcare

In April 2014, Mehta took over as the deputy managing director of the company.

Max Healthcare (MHC), a healthcare services provider, announced the appointment of Rajit Mehta as the company's managing director and chief executive officer. After being transferred from Max Life Insurance (MLI) in April 2014, Rajit took over the responsibility of MHC as the deputy managing director, at a time when the institution had just witnessed a leadership change.

He has been associated with the Max Group for more than 14 years now. In the last one year, he has shouldered the responsibility of executive leadership of MHC.

On his new role, Mehta says, "The healthcare sector resonates with me, and I am quite excited at this opportunity to truly 'serve'. MHC is an amazing organisation known for quality and patient-centricity. My aspiration is to work closely with the shareholders, the board, the leadership team of management and clinicians to take MHC to even greater heights."

In his new role, Mehta will provide strategic thinking, execution and a sense of confidence to MHC as the company pursues its growth goals, explores organic and inorganic growth opportunities and invests in new capabilities, while sustaining the already high clinical outcomes.

A consummate professional with nearly three decades of experience, Mehta is a founder member of MLI. During his tenure in MLI, he undertook additional responsibilities as the chief transformation officer wherein he was responsible for the execution of key initiatives, designing and implementing new work systems, aligning key stakeholders, rationalising the cost structure to improve profitability and laying out a comprehensive change management agenda.

He also helped set up the Learning and Development Centre of Excellence and played a strategic role in helping MLI expand its distribution footprint across India. .

Prior to his stint at MLI, he was the director - personnel at Bank of America. He is a graduate in Commerce and holds a post graduate degree in Human Resources. He also attended an Advanced Management Program at INSEAD - France.

Max Healthcare has 12 facilities in North India, offering services in over 30 medical disciplines. Of these, nine facilities are located in Delhi-NCR and the others in Mohali, Bathinda and Dehradun. The Max network includes state-of-the-art tertiary care hospitals in Saket, Patparganj, Shalimar Bagh, Mohali, Bathinda and Dehradun, secondary care hospitals at Gurgaon, Pitampura and Noida and an out-patient facility and a speciality centre at Panchsheel Park.
