Cisco's Nupur Sharma to join Symantec as chief marketing officer

In her new role, she will be responsible for building Symantec as a brand and meeting countrywide business requirements.

Nupur Sharma has decided to quit Cisco Systems as head marketing - brand strategy, advertising and digital. Her last day in the organisation where she worked for 16 years now, will be June 15.

Sharma will join Symantec in July. According to sources, she will responsible for countrywide business and marketing requirements at Symantec. Based in Delhi, her role will involve special focus on digital and web marketing, along with brand strategy.

Sharma has spent a large part of her career at Cisco Systems working across various marketing and sales functions. She has held several important portfolios in the organisation as manager- public relations, head - integrated marketing communications, country lead - enterprise marketing and head of business development for public sector and defence verticals. She was appointed as head marketing, brand strategy and advertising in November 2007.
