Kavita Kailas, who was recently promoted as chief strategy officer, Rediffusion Y&R, has put in her papers. Over the past few years Kailas has been heading the strategic planning function across Rediffusion's Delhi, Kolkata and Southern operations and had been promoted in February this year.
Confirming the development, Kailas says that due to personal reasons she is moving on from the agency.
"My personal life got aligned in such a way that I have to move on. I'm taking a break and will be exploring few projects," she says ruling out taking up entrepreneurship or joining a rival agency.
"I've been with Rediffusion for the last three and a half years and the agency has the best planning department in the business. I thoroughly enjoyed working with the best of minds both in creative as well as planning team. The best part about my stint was that we worked together seamlessly as a unit and created some of the best works for our clients," adds Kailas on her tenure at the agency.
Kailas has around 15 years of experience in advertising, having worked on brands belonging to diverse categories ranging from FMCG to financial services. She started her career at Advertising Avenues in 1999, and has since worked at Lowe Lintas, Leo Burnett, JWT, BBH and Rediffusion. She has handled brands such as Axe, Lifebuoy, Clinic All Clear, Tide and Whisper. Kailas has also dabbled with an entrepreneurial venture, wherein she consulted with clients (such as Vogue), which primarily target women.
