Dog lovers are always raving about what great stress busters the furry creatures can be. Giving its users a chance to tide through the mid-week crisis, Uber Delhi executed a rather cute BTL campaign titled 'UberPuppies'. The taxi hailing service asked users to book what they called 'UberPuppies' between 1 pm and 4 pm, post which a cab arrived with a pup and the user got a chance to spend 15 minutes with the dog.
The activity, carried out in Delhi-NCR, along with Dogspot.in, aims to increase pet adoption awareness among consumers. Dogspot is a one-stop-shop for all pet care needs, connecting pet lovers across the country via community events, activities and discussion forums.
Speaking about the campaign, Saad Ahmed, senior manager - marketing and partnerships at Uber says that the aim is to provide unique and amazing experiences to its riders.
"It's never been done before in India. We also want to create awareness and encourage people to start adopting puppies. This way we feel that we would be helping these adorable little ones find a home for themselves," he explains.
Apart from Delhi, Uber has executed this campaign in Pune as well. The company has no plans to extend it to the other cities currently.
Uber launched its India operations in 2013. According to an official note from the company, India has become its largest market outside United States and also the fastest growing. It has announced its expansion with simultaneous launches in seven cities - Bhubaneswar, Coimbatore, Indore, Mysore, Nagpur, Surat and Visakhapatnam. Uber is now present in 18 cities across India.
