Star India gets Hulu's Varun Narang to work on Hotstar

Star India, in order to ramp up the digital team of its online video service platform Hotstar, has appointed Varun Narang to head the product and technology division.


He is a former executive from Hulu, a US-based online video service. Narang has moved from US to Mumbai.

He brings with him over two decades of experience. Prior to joining Hulu, he had also worked with Amazon and Xerox in US.

For the record, Hotstar offers content on mobile and the web. It has been designed and built to provide the best video experience for TV shows, Movies and Sports, all in a single destination.

Viewers can access full-length episodes of TV shows on Star India channels, full-length Bollywood, English, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi and Bengali Movies, in addition to live cricket streaming. At present, Hotstar is live streaming the Pro Kabaddi League Season 2.
