GEC Watch: Sab TV races ahead of Sony in week 29 of BARC

Sab TV now occupies the fifth spot among Hindi GECs with 199225 GVTs.

Sab TV, the second Hindi GEC from Multi Screen Media, has jumped up to No. 5 in the Hindi GEC space, racing ahead of Sony Entertainment Television (SET).

As per BARC data (HSM : NCCS All : Week 29 : Individuals : C&S 1Lac+), Sab TV garnered 199225 GVTs in week 29.

Star Plus continues to lead the pack with 403820 GVTs, as compared to 380392 GVTs in the previous week.

Colors' viewership increased to 383400 GVTs, in the week that ended on July 24, from 315462 GVTs in the last week.

Zee TV stood at No. 3 with 262616 GVTs, a gain from previous week's 255005 GVTs.

Life OK, meanwhile, registered 237718 GVTs in the week, as opposed to previous week's 230762 GVTs.

As for the shows, Star Plus's 'Saath Nibhaana Saathiya' was the most watched show in the week with an average viewership of 6350 TVTs. Zee TV's 'Kumkum Bhagya' came in next with 5537 TVTs.

Star Plus' 'Yeh Hai Mohabbatein' was the third most watched show with 5314 TVTs, followed by Colors' 'Sasural Simar Ka', that clocked 5188 TVTs, and 'Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi' that garnered 5008 TVTs.

A look at TAM numbers:

Star Plus is the leader as per TAM data too, with 232 GRPs in week 30, as compared to 237 GRPs in the previous week. Colors followed with 224 GRPs (last week 204).

At No. 3 is Zee TV with 147 GRPs in week 30, as compared to 152 GRPs last week.

The second rung GECs, Sab TV and Life OK, clocked 143 GRPs (last week 134) and 126 GRPs (last week 131), respectively.

Sony Entertainment Television clocked 111 GRPs (last week 107) and &TV garnered 68 GRPs (last week 65).

Zee Anmol garnered 32 GRPs (last week 32), while Star Utsav managed 28 GRPs (last week 28). Rishtey and Sony Pal clocked 22 GRPs (last week 20) and 14 GRPs (last week 16), respectively.

Big Magic concluded the week with 20 GRPs (last week 19), Epic with 6 GRPs (last week 6), Zindagi with 5 GRPs (last week 4) and Sahara One with 4 GRPs (last week 3).

As for the viewership of shows in the TAM universe, Zee TV's 'Kumkum Bhagya' is the most watched show with 3.65 TVR, and Sab TV's 'Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma' is the second most watched show with 3.59 TVR.

At No.3 is Colors' 'Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi' that garnered 3.55 TVR.

Three of Star Plus' shows came in next - 'Yeh Hai Mohabbatein' (3.37 TVR), 'Saathiya Saath Nibhana' (3.36 TVR) and 'Diya Aur Baati Hum' (2.97 TVR).

Colors' 'Comedy Nights With Kapil' (2.95 TVR), 'Balika Vadhu' (2.85 TVR) and 'Sasural Simar Ka' (2.84 TVR) too feature in the top ten most watched shows, along with Star Plus' 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai'.
