GEC Watch: Colors is the No.1 Hindi GEC of BARC's Week 34
Viacom18's Colors has toppled reigning leader Star Plus.

As per BARC data, Viacom 18's Colors is the No.1 GEC of week 34 with 360494 GVTs (last week: 364532 GVTs). At No.2 is Star Plus with 359509 GVTs (last week: 387389 GVTs), followed by Zee Tv and Life Ok with 264237 and 224264 GVTs (last week: 275177 GVTs and 227424 GVTs) respectively. SONY SAB stood fifth with 186090 GVTs (last week: 190945 GVTs).
TAM Data: Top Hindi GECs of Week 35 - August 23 to August 29, 2015 - HSM without LC1, C&S 4+
As per TAM data, Star Plus topped in Week 35; the channel got 211 GRPs. Colors stood second with 208 GRPs, followed by Zee TV and SAB TV with 148 and 130 GRPs, respectively. Life OK finished fifth (116 GRPs) followed by Sony Entertainment Television (101 GRPs).
Sony is followed by &TV (56 GRPs), Zee Anmol, (29 GRPs), Star Utsav (25 GRPs) and Rishtey (23 GRPs).
A look at the shows: According to TAM, Zee TV's 'Kumkum Bhagya' is the most watched show in the genre; it got 3.8 TVR. It is followed by Colors' 'Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi' and 'Swaragini' with 3.7 TVR and 3.63 TVR, respectively. Star Plus' 'Yeh Hai Mohabbatein' stood fourth with 3.28 TVR. At No.5, 6 and 7 are three shows aired on Colors, namely, 'Sasural Simar Ka' with 3.11 TVR, 'Udaan' with 3.07 TVR and 'Charavartin Ashoka Samrat' with 3.04 TVR.
Star Plus' 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai' stood eighth with 2.96 TVR. At No. 9 is SONY SAB's 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma' with 2.94 TVR, followed by Star Plus' 'Diya aur Baati Hum' with 2.93 TVR.
