Mathur joined Komli in 2011 and has 13 years of experience in both digital and print sales. He has been a part of the revenue monetisation team and focussed on the telecom industry in Yahoo. He has earlier worked with The Times of India, The People Group and Jaypee Group in various sales and marketing roles. Welcoming Mathur to SVG's leadership team, Manish Vij, founder and CEO, SVG Media, says, "Akshay's rich experience, client relationships and his deep understanding of Komli's business and the internal environment make him the natural choice for leading Komli's next phase of growth under the SVG umbrella. We also welcome other senior leadership of Komli Media by retaining the team and culture of the organisation."

Mathur adds, "I am extremely excited to work with the renewed energies; we will be able to take Komli Media to even greater heights. The company continues to work independently under the SVG Media portfolio. We also plan to provide our customers with new media and technological solutions by leveraging next generation programmatic buying platforms."

In August 2015, SVG Media announced the merger of Komli Media India which now functions as an independent entity under SVG Media, with the latter serving as an umbrella company. As a combined entity, the new SVG Media Group claims to have consolidated India revenues of over US $50 million.
