Arnab Goswami can now be heard far beyond the Indian borders. Announcing the UK launch of Times NOW, the flagship channel of Times Network, M K Anand, CEO and managing director, Times Network, says, "The success of Times NOW has encouraged us to further launch it for Indians who live abroad and want to keep abreast of news about their country and its growing eminence in the world."

"The expansion of the channel in the UK market, for us, is the most important one since our launch in America in 2011, which was our international debut. This launch announces our arrival in the European market as the UK is probably our biggest diaspora market. We intend to enter France and Germany, too, by next year," Anand adds.

Arnab Goswami, president -- News, and editor-in-chief, and who also anchors the popular Newshour, says, "The channel is launching in the UK to give viewers there a platform to voice their opinions. Times NOW, in the UK, will initially focus on Indian news, but will stay true to its tagline 'Action Begins Here', and will encourage viewers in the UK to take action and not wait for others to change their fortune. However, we will develop original content for the British and global audiences eventually."

Naveen Chandra, head of International Business, Times Network, adds, "With this launch, Times Network channels have rapidly reached over 80 countries in five continents in a little over four years. We are now building our local sales team, and will soon enlist for BARB ratings. We have received encouraging feedback from advertisers with half a dozen clients already on board at the time of the launch. Our innovative marketing during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Wembley address is the start of our three-phase marketing plan over the next six months, in order to introduce the channel to the UK audiences."

Times Now says it is entering the UK with an array of shows from its popular news programming. The channel will also air shows from the Bollywood industry covered by sibling Zoom, as well as business news in the evenings from 7-8 pm. Times NOW's shows include The Newshour presented by Goswami, The Game that covers events around sports, stories and interviews, Total Recall, Wide Angle, Blueprint --the biggest story of the day, and Live Wire.
