GEC Watch: Week 1 of 2016 sees Colors and Naagin continue to reign
Zee Anmol and Star Plus stay at second and third spots respectively, in the first week of the year.

In BARC India's ratings for Week 1 of 2016, Colors is No.1 once again in the third consecutive week, with 756 million ratings as compared to 744 million last week. Zee Anmol retained its No.2 position with ratings at 719 million, and Star Plus is at third spot again with 699 million ratings (712 million last week). Zee TV comes in fourth with 681 million ratings as compared to 651 million last week.
Rishtey stood at No.7 second week in a row with 390 million ratings. The channel experienced a rise in the ratings from 379 million last week.
The top five programmes in Hindi GECs according to BARC data in Week 1 were Colors' Naagin, Zee TV's Kumkum Bhagya, Star Plus' Saath Nibhaana Saathiya, Colors' Sasural Simar Ka, and Star Plus' Ye Hai Mohabbatein.

In TAM's latest data, Colors climbs up to the No.1 position with GRPs at 237, while Star Plus is at second position with 226 GRPs.
Zee TV comes in at No.3 with 154 GRPs, while Sony SAB again came in at No.4 with 132 GRPs.
Life OK stepped up one slot at No.5 with 117 GRPs, and Sony Entertainment TV was a spot down at No.6 (113 GRPs). These were followed by &TV (78 GRPs), Sony Pal (35 GRPs), Rishtey (33 GRPs) and Zee Anmol (31 GRPs).
