After Anil Uniyal and Maneka Doshi, another senior Network 18 hand joins Raghav Bhal's digital-first venture The Quint. Sanjay Pugalia, former editor of CNBC Awaaz and CNBC Bajar, who recently moved out, becomes Bahl's newest senior recruit.

Pugalia joins as president and editorial director of both The Quint and Bloomberg Quint.

"Pugalia will report to the founder of the company Raghav Bahl," says Anil Uniyal, CEO, The Quint, confirming the development to afaqs!.

A source in Bahl's company informs us, "Today was his (Pugalia's) first day in the company and his key portfolio will be to set up the Hindi version of the experience he has, he will also play a vital role in...the other verticals of Quintillion Media."

The Quint has inked a joint venture with Bloomberg LP and will soon set up an English business news channel and website.

Pugalia played an important role in the launch of Star News in India. Further, under his leadership CNBC Awaaz went to the No.1 position in its segment. He was associated with Network 18 for over 12 years and has over 25 years of experience in journalism.
