In a recent announcement, JWT India has hired Sambit Mohanty as the national creative director and he will be based out of the agency's Delhi office. In his new role, Mohanty will be reporting to Senthil Kumar, chief creative officer, JWT India. He was previously working with DDB Mudra, North as the creative head.
An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) New Delhi, Mohanty has spent 18 years in the advertising and design industry. He has profound understanding of the industry across verticals including mainstream, digital and shopper marketing.
Commenting on Mohanty's appointment, Kumar, says in a press release, " Sambit was the youngest and more importantly the hungriest of all the potential creative leaders we considered for the NCD role, based in Delhi. Sambit will work with me and ignite fresh energy into the JWT India creative product. He has the ambition and the drive to champion pioneering ideas and path breaking solutions for all our clients."
An avid quizzer, Mohanty is well known in the Delhi quiz circuit. He has had the distinction of being a finalist in BBC Mastermind and National winner of the Brand Equity Quiz. Mohanty has been acknowledged by 4Ps business magazine as one of 'India's Gen-Next Creative Brains'. He is also a visiting faculty in MDI, Gurgaon and takes classes specialising in creativity and brand communication.
His work has had far reaching impact in the marketplace and has been celebrated across various creative festivals. Some of the Creative Recognition Won by Mohanty in his career include the Coveted Cannes Lions, D&AD Pencils, Spikes Asia, Ad Stars Asia Awards, Goafest Gold Abbies and Kyoorius Blue Elephants. Even winning several IAA Olive Crown Golds, Marketing Effectiveness Effie Golds and APAC Effie Silver Awards for big brands like Volkswagen, Adidas, Coca Cola and Unicef among many others.
