GEC Watch: Colors replaces Star Plus as the No.1 channel in Urban and U+R markets

The third match of the Paytm T20 series between India and England on DD National, was the most watched programme in U+R and Rural markets.

In Week 5 of BARC's viewership data for U+R market, Colors replaced Star Plus as the No.1 channel with 643963 Impressions. Star plus at No.2 got 614349 Impressions. Zee TV jumped to No.3 position from No.4 in last week with 436860 Impressions while Star Utsav made it to No.4 with 406468 Impressions and Rishtey was at No.5 with 404313 Impressions.

Top Programs (U+R)

The third match of the Paytm T20 series between India and England on DD National, was the most watched programme with 17653 Impressions followed by the second match of the Paytm T20 series with 17215 Impressions. Naagin - Season 2 on Colors was at No.3 position with 11396 Impressions. Kumkum Bhagya was at No.4 position with 10040 impressions followed by Star Plus' Saath Nibhaana Saathiya at No.5 position with 8497 Impression.

Top Channels in Urban Market

In Urban market too Colors beat Star Plus to No.1 position with 445372 Impressions followed by Star Plus at No.2 with 434300 Impressions. Sony Entertainment Television with 263996 Impressions was at No.3 position followed by Zee TV at No.4 slot with 249114 Impressions and Sony Sab at No.5 position with 248034 Impressions.

Top Programmes in Urban market

Colors' 'Naagin - Season 2' with 7416 Impressions continued its leading run, followed by Big Boss with 6183 Impressions at No.2 and Shakti - Astitva Ek Ehsaas Ki at No.3 position with 5987 Impressions. Zee TV's 'Kumkum Bhagya' with 5937 Impressions was at No.4 position followed by Sony TV's The Kapil Sharma Show with 5842 Impressions.

Top Channels in Rural market

Star Utsav went on to become the No.1 channel replacing Rishtey at No.1 position with 302407 Impressions in the Rural market. With 299111 Impressions, Rishtey was at No.2 position. Zee Anmol with 284423 Impressions was at No.3 position whereas Sony Pal with 225613 Impressions continued to be at No.4 position. DD National with 202191 Impressions was at No.5 position.
