Shikha Sharma re-appointed as MD and CEO, Axis Bank

Shikha Sharma has been re-appointed as the managing director and CEO of Axis Bank for a period of three years with effect from June, 2018.

Shikha SharmaThe bank's corporate announcement on BSE's website says, "The Board of Directors at its meeting held on 26th July 2017, approved the re-appointment of Smt. Shikha Sharma as the Managing Director & CEO of the Bank for a period of 3 years, w.e.f. 1st June, 2018, subject to compliance with the prescribed formalities and receipt of requisite regulatory / statutory approvals."

Sharma has more than three decades of experience in the financial sector, having begun her career with ICICI bank in 1980. Sharma also chairs the Confederation of Indian Industry National Committee on Banking since 2015. She was also a member of the Reserve Bank of India Technical Advisory Committee.
