Malik replaces Neeraj Bassi with effect from October 2017.

Cheil Worldwide India has appointed Atika Malik as chief strategy officer. In this role, she will be responsible for integrated planning and strategy of the agency across all its business divisions. Malik replaces Neeraj Bassi with effect from Oct 2017.

Speaking about her new role, Malik says, "Cheil is truly an agency that is 'built for now'. It is an environment where I see creativity and technology fueling each other, and giving birth to innovative brand solutions. I'm excited that we can deliver these solutions through powerful human stories, by inventing tech products, building e-commerce platforms or 24x7 always on content and even retail experiences seamlessly."

With over 22 years of experience, Malik has played an integral role in strategic planning, integrated communications and shaping a spectrum of brands across India and globally. Prior to this, Malik was associated with JWT for over a decade where she grew from being head of planning, Delhi to global planning director, based out of Singapore. At JWT, she lent her expertise and insights on various brands to drive and deliver growth. More recently she took on the role of a strategic consultant with Dutch Life and Material Sciences Company, DSM to develop socio-commercial business solutions to address micronutrient malnutrition for the bottom of the pyramid.

Speaking about the appointment, Nishi Suri, chief operating officer, Cheil SWA, says, "Bringing Atika (Malik) on board demonstrates the importance we place on strategy and tech-based innovation being at the heart of everything we do.
