Tata Donnelly Limited, publisher of the Tata Press Yellow Pages among other publications, has launched Tata Press Yellow Pages Online (TPYP Online). With over 3.5 lakh entries across 3,500 product and service categories, TPYP Online provides a broad-based platform for B2B intermediation.

TPYP Online has three search categories - town, product and service - which supposedly covers everything from abrasives to zippers. In a break from tradition, enterprises have the benefit of a free listing on the site after filling an online form. As of date, the company claims that over 3,000 companies across the country have registered online. A significant proportion of these companies comprise small- and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs).

Makarand Lele, general manager, Tata Press Yellow Pages, "Not only is TPYP Online India's first online interactive yellow pages, it also offers value-added services like institutional links with the RBI, the Income Tax department and the UTI. In future, we plan to augment our services and content through tie-ups with leading international Yellow Pages."

Tata Press Yellow Pages already has operations in 11 cities across the country. Through TPYP Online, the company aims to tap the potential of the one million plus SMEs in these cities.
