It's Kasautii's turn to dominate primetime

The romantic drama has replaced the jaded Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi as well as the long-winding Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki to be the No 1 soap during primetime

For the second week in succession, romantic drama Kasautii Zindagii Kay from Balaji Telefilms has topped the list of 100 mega shows in the cable and satellite universe, highlighting an important point in the process - the domination of Des Mein Nikla Hoga Chand from the stable of Aroona Irani in the week of May 4-10 may have been an aberration. Further, whether it is Kyunki, Kahaani or Kasautii, the reign of Balaji continues.

For the week of May 18-24 Kasautii Zindagii Kay occupies the top three slots with a TVR of 10.5, 9.8 and 9.6 for episodes telecast on May 21, 19 and 22 respectively. Des Mein Nikla Hoga Chand is fourth on the list with a score of 9.5 (episode telecast on May 19) while the May 20 episode of Kasautii stands at the half-point mark with a score of 9.1.

The May 22 and 20 episodes of Kyunki are sixth and seventh with TVRs of 8.8 and 8.3 while the May 19 episode of Kahaani is placed eighth in the Top 10 with a score of 8.1. Kyunki and Kehta Hai Dil complete the Top 10 line-up with scores of 8 (episode telecast on May 19) and 7.8 (episode telecast on May 20) respectively.

In all, STAR Plus has 59 entries in the C&S Top 100 while Sony Entertainment Television (SET) has four shows on the revered list. These include the May 23 episode of CID at No 71 (with 2.3), followed by the May 22 episode of Kkusum and May 24 episode of Kya Hadsaa Kya Haqeeqat at Nos 85 and 87. The May 23 episode of social thriller Devi completes Sony's haul with a score of 1.9 (No 91).

ZEE is back on the list with the AR Rahman Live in Concert (telecast on May 24) garnering 1.9 and ranked No 90.

Sister channels SUN TV and Gemini TV do a STAR and Sony with entry tallies totaling 31 and 5 respectively. For SUN, the leader is the May 20 episode of Tamil serial Metty Oli at No 36 (TVR: 3.9), followed by Tamil feature film Arunachalam (telecast on May 18) and the May 20 episode of primetime soap Annamalai at Nos 42 and 42 respectively.

The frontrunner for Gemini is Telegu feature film Narasimha Naidu, telecast on May 24 and featuring at No 76 with TVR of 2.6. It is followed by the May 23 episode of serial Ninne Pilladata (telecast at 8.00 pm) with a score of 2 (No. 86); the May 20 episode of Ninne Pilladata again and the May 23 episode of Kkalavaari Kkodalu (telecast at 10.00 pm) are next with a score of 1.9 (Nos 92 and 94), while the May 21 episode of Kkalavaari Kkodalu completes the line-up with a score of 1.8 (No 98). © 2003 agencyfaqs!
