Triton, Delhi, to host ICOM Regional Conference for Asia Pacific

The ICOM Regional Conference for Asia Pacific will be held in Delhi at Uppal's Orchid Ecotel on November 7 and 8, 2003

International Communications Agency Network, Inc (ICOM), one of world's largest network of independent advertising and marketing communications agencies, is coming to India for the first time ever. The meet, ICOM Regional Conference for Asia Pacific, will be held in Delhi at Uppal's Orchid Ecotel on November 7 and 8, 2003. The event is being hosted by Triton Communications, the only India member of ICOM.

The participating agencies include Adfromatix (Philippines), Nihon Kezai Advertising (Japan), Smart Group (Korea), Walkers Advertising (New Zealand), Wilson Everard Advertising (Australia), PMP (Honk Kong), Creative In-House (Thailand), Goldsun (Vietnam), Select Team (Malaysia) and NewSun Communication (China).

"Participants from 16 member agencies from the region would share their experiences, learnings and future strategies," says Munawar Syed, managing director, Triton Communications. "More than mere sharing, it also becomes a platform for the ICOM members to brainstorm and arrive at new directions which will propel the future growth of the companies in this region in keeping with the theme of the conference - Preparing For the Future," adds Ali Merchant, joint managing director.

ICOM doesn't offer aligned clients to its members, but enables them to convert business opportunities by utilising cross-market learnings. Explaining how various members leverage the ICOM network, Vivek Srivastava, president, Triton Communications, Delhi, says, "In exchange for information ICOM helps its partner members with market facts, transaction of business in overseas markets and training of personnel." Apart from regular business interactions, members of ICOM meet and share their results, initiatives and future strategies at their global and regional meets.

ICOM is a network of agencies that are non-aligned. They are owner-driven organisations, but professionally managed and with a strong local market presence. It is headquartered in Colorado and is chaired by Gary Burandt, who was president of Dentsu Young & Rubicam at Singapore. ICOM today has 70 member agencies with a total billing of 3 billion USD. © 2003 agencyfaqs!
