India’s first English micro sitcom series Ram & Ria goes live on Rediff iShare

Riding on the growing popularity of videos on the internet, comes India’s first english micro sitcom which offers the Indian users drama, action and comedy all packed in a short film series as they like it and as they want it on internet. The short film series titled as ‘Ram & Ria’ is India’s first video series which has gone live on Rediff iShare, the social publishing platform for videos, music and photos of Rediff.com.

Conceptualized and produced by PixelKraft, a Media Solutions company based in Chennai, ‘Ram & Ria’ series features the life of a typical south Indian man and his charming mumbaikar wife and showcases their dilemmas as they go about living their life in a metro. The comic short series is full of real life situations and highlights the humour in the everyday situations in short films of 3 mins.

Commenting on this initiative Manish Agarwal, vice president marketing of Rediff.com says, “With broadband becoming a reality in India, more and more people are logging online to watch entertaining video’s. The series which has gone live recently has already got a great response from audiences online – wherein over 50,000 users have already watched it and have left interesting remarks on the site. Watching short film series online is very popular in developed markets like US and is now slowly picking up roots with the Indian users.

Commenting on this initiative the Creative Director of Ram & Ria series Mr. Siddharth Kumar said, “The inspiration to launch Ram & Ria series came from the dearth of contemporary Indian content and we strongly believe that there is great market for real content being produced for alternate media’s like internet and mobile.”
