Yahoo! India R&D announced its Open Hack Day India to be held on 14th and 15th February at The Taj Residency in Bangalore. David Filo, Co Founder & Chief Yahoo! will kick off the 2nd Open Hack Day India. This is the 5th Open Hack Day being organized by Yahoo! worldwide. The event had its beginning in 2006 in Sunnyvale and since then Yahoo! has taken it globally to London, Taiwan and for the second time in Bangalore.

Open Hack Day is a two-day event that commences with a Developer workshop with sessions led by Yahoos and progresses to an overnight Hack Camp with food, music, concluding with demos, judging and awards.
Speaking about the event Sharad Sharma, CEO, Yahoo! India R&D said, Open is a part of Yahoo!s DNA that the company emphasizes on. Open Hack Day celebrates innovation and demonstrates our commitment to open technologies and opportunities for developers. It is fun but also educational, practical and is a key element of Yahoo!s ongoing strategy.

Yahoo! India R&D recently held Hack U events for the first time in India at IIT-Delhi and IIT-Mumbai. These events gave innovative young thinkers the opportunity to use Yahoo! open technology to develop and showcase their dream applications.
