Ameet Mehta creates a new brand identity for US Embassy's American Center

Ameet Mehta's shooting star will be the new face of the US Embassy’s American Center in India, after he was declared the winner of the American Center's nationwide logo design contest. Chosen from more than 1,300 submissions from industry stalwarts, branding experts and budding designers, Ameet's winning design will become the renewed brand identity of the US Embassy’s American Centers.  As a highly coveted prize, Ameet will now be going to United States for a design fellowship and exchange of ideas and experiences on a diverse range of issues with their top design institutes and companies.

Ameet Mehta, Principal, Design at Pineapple Consulting, Mumbai (www.pineappleconsulting.biz) is a 2004 graduate of NIFT, New Delhi. An expert in Branding & Design, says Mehta, "I emphasized bringing dynamism and visual integration of the two forces -- India and America -- fusing together to make one cohesive unit! I'd consider myself extremely fortunate if this brand identity can really invoke a new spirit to the glorious Indo-U.S. relationship!"

Speaking about the new brand identity, Mr. Michael Macy, Minister Counselor for Cultural Affairs, added, “We were looking for a strong and dynamic identity which would represent the strengthening Indo-U.S. relationship and capture the essence of various initiatives taken by the American Center. Ameet's shooting star stood out as a clear winner on all the parameters of our selection criteria.”
Elaborating on the contest, Ms Anne Seshadri, American Center Director said, “The contest was conducted primarily because we wanted to reach out to a larger base of designers and strategists and create the most suited brand identity for the American Center. A highly coveted jury of American diplomatic officials screened the entries and announced the top winner at an award function held at The American Center in New Delhi.”
