Publicis Ambience gets into Bharatmatrimony.com stable; bags business worth Rs 50 crore

Ambience has won the creative duties for Consim Info, owners of Bharatmatrimony.com, following a multi-agency pitch involving eight-10 top agencies.
Publicis will manage the branding and communications for the group’s various verticals, including IndiaProperty.com, IndiaAutomobile.com, Indiapages.com, IndiaList.com, and ClickJobs.com. The size of the business is estimated to be Rs 50 crore. Network Advertising was handling the creative duties till December 2007 after which they mutually parted ways.
Starcom holds the media duties for Consim Info; these were not under review.
P Gopalakrishnan, chief marketing officer, Consim Info, says, “Our brands come from strong values with the right mix of technology and innovation to offer good solutions to our customers. We wanted the right partner to position these brands and we found the match in Publicis Ambience’s team.”
Aniruddha Banerjee, president and chief operating officer, Publicis Ambience, says, “Apart from our strategic pitch and the creative work, it was our passion and energy that won us the business. Consim has some very strong brands, and we hope to make them even stronger.”
The media mix will include the usual suspects: television, radio, press and outdoor; in addition, some innovative/new media will also be leveraged.
For the record, BharatMatrimony.com was Consim’s flagship brand, among the first to offer a regional language based online matrimonial service (it is available for access in eight regional languages today). The website has found mention in the Limca Book of Records for the largest number of documented marriages online.
