Buying food? Go to Muji. Buying a house? Go to Muji

The evolution of Tokyo’s one-stop for everything.

It is difficult to find a retail outlet that has everything a consumer may need to lead, or live, a quality life. Muji, the freshly-renovated outlet in Tokyo manages to offer somebody something they have been looking for.

Walk into Muji’s Tokyo store (it has outlets in the US too) and you could theoreticall walk off with a house in your shopping bag. Muji sells everything from seasonal fresh food to prefabricated homes.

There are other chains like Costco, Walmart, Target and Kmart across the world. However, Muji is different in the sense that a customer who enters the all-under-one-roof store is bound to find something minimal, affordable, functional, and made with longevity in mind. Everything that’s sold in a Muji store passes a rigorous design review.

The idea behind Muji’s physical store in an e-commerce world is this: anticipate retail trends and go in for curation without sacrificing choice. Sadly, for those living outside Japan a trip to Muji’s is not a casual stroll away.
