Haier Telecom (India) appoints Praveen Valecha COO

Valecha has spent 14 years in the telecom industry, during which time he was instrumental in launching various mobile phone brands in India

Haier Telecom (India) has appointed Praveen Valecha as its chief operating officer (COO).

Valecha will handle the complete operations of the telecom company in addition to establishing an effective sales, marketing, service and distribution network. His mandate will be to buffer the brand across various markets throughout the country. He will report to Arun Khanna, MD, Haier.

Khanna feels that Valecha, who is an industry veteran, is a value addition and will bring about long-term growth for Haier Telecom.

Valecha has spent 14 years in the telecom industry, during which time he helped launch various mobile phone brands in India. He aims to establish Haier Telecom as one of the front-runners in the mobile telephony business by putting key business processes in place.

Prior to joining Haier Telecom, Valecha served as head, product group, at electronics company LG, where he spearheaded a number of product launches in its mobile phone division. He has also worked with industry leaders like Samsung, Philips, Panasonic and HCL.

Also worth noting is that Valecha is the founder member of the India Cellular Association (ICA).
