With over 10 million mobile connections added on every month, almost 50 million internet users and online social networking becoming the latest fad. More and more Indian consumers are going digital. And so are the marketers who wish to reach them in this exciting new medium.

In this scenario, the International Digital Marketing Institute has kicked off operations. It aims to deliver world class digital marketing education and training in India.

Founder Director Glen Ireland is a digital marketing & CRM practitioner, who has worked across India, Australia, Singapore and the Middle East.

"The IDMI is one answer to addressing the dearth of well trained digital marketing resources in market", he says. "As India goes digital in the next few years this talent deficit will only get bigger - so it's a great time for companies to invest in transitioning people through training programmes to the new digital reality."

Markets around the world have seen a dramatic shift in budget allocation, where digital marketing spends have gone up exponentially. Here in India too, the integration of digital into mainstream marketing practice is picking up pace.

It will take a new generation of digital savvy marketers to maneuver through this emerging landscape. The IDMI seeks to be a catalyst for this breed, by giving them the training and skills they need to stay ahead of the curve.

The institute offers a range of digital marketing courses - apart from in-company training programmes.

First off the block is the Digital Marketing Fast Track Course. Glen Ireland says "It's a great foundation course for mainstream marketing professionals to get thinking about the possibilities of digital marketing – apart from giving them the tools & techniques to plan and execute digital campaigns".

Helming this course is a team of seasoned professionals:

Heather Albrecht, Australia's leading digital marketing training expert & the IDMI's lead trainer is super excited about coming to India to share global best practices in the Fast Track course. "With India witnessing growth in digital communication & media – this seems a very timely effort."

Bringing an Indian perspective to the training will be Karl Gomes, Ex-NCD at Rediffusion Digital. He is working closely with the Institute to develop a bespoke Digital Creative Best Practice programme to be rolled out soon.

CP Singh, Chief Technology Officer at SITG is happy to start mentoring young executives on how to think digital and is also looking forward to sharing his incredible journey of a small start up to one of India's highly respected digital marketing companies.

Ravinder Singh a.k.a. ‘RP' of Maxus will also share best practice tips on how to plan and execute digital media campaigns.

Digital is being adopted by Indian consumers like never before. With the IDMI's efforts, we may see more and more Indian marketers doing the same!
