Hive Awards hosts its premiere awards ceremony at Austin's Red7

The Hive Awards, honoring the unsung heroes of the internet, will host its premiere awards ceremony on Friday, March 12th at 8pm at Austin’s Red7. The awards ceremony is held in conjunction with the annual SXSW Interactive Festival, and will be streamed live by sponsor BITGRAVITY. The Hive Awards after party will be hosted by Dallas Social Media Club, The Hive Awards, KickApps, and The StartupBus. The after party celebration takes place at KickApps Bar in Austin and will begin at 10pm.

The spotlight is on the 2009 Hive Award recipients, who will receive trophies for winning entries in the following categories: Content Strategy, Data Strategy, Back End Code, Programming/Coding/Scripting, Gaming/Entertainment Websites, News/Opinion Websites, Community Websites, E-Commerce Websites, Web Apps, Mobile Apps, Enterprise Apps, and Crowdsourcing.

All Hive Award entries were judged within their individual industry related categories by our Advisory Board, comprised of industry professionals representing the most influential minds in the web community, and the renowned international Hive Award Jury.

"Our Judges and Advisory Board members really came through. Their dedication and passion was evident in the care they took in evaluating every entry, looking at how it excelled within the category it was entered, rather than how "cool" it was," commented Alan Wolk, Hive Awards Director.

The Hive Awards, whose name comes from the “hive mentality" inherent in building a website, is a tribute to those with a myriad of different roles who must work together. Launched by the noted blogger and digital strategist Wolk, the Hive Awards rewards coders, programmers, content developers, user experience designers and planners for their innovative work within their industry.
