Sony today announced the launch of new VAIO S Series, the perfectly balanced mobile PC. With a 13.3 inch screen in a slim and thin full-flat design, you can carry it around in your daily life. You can also double up the battery life just by using the optional Extended Battery, which is ideal for business as well as on-campus use where you may not find power source while on-the-go.

Perfectly balanced performance and high mobility

VAIO S Series comes with the latest 2nd generation Intel® Core i7 processor<1> and AMD Radeon HD 6630M GPU<2> with 1GB VRAM. The unit has a Performance Switch which supports Dynamic Hybrid Graphic System. The switch allows users to easily choose SPEED mode for fastest performance or STAMINA mode to let the battery last even longer. The VAIO S Series has 6 hours<3> of battery life just by itself; however, an optional Extended Battery is also available to make the battery life to 12 hours<4> which is double of the primary battery capability. With this, you don't have to worry about looking for an electric outlet for all day long. There is a dedicated battery charger, so that you can leave your battery at your desk to get charged, and then bring it with you so that the battery life will last for another few hours. The shape of Extended Battery is also full-flat which makes the S Series stay full-flat to easily carry out even when the Extended Battery is attached.

Crafted to be carried

This PC is crafted to be carried in comfort. It comes just in 1.71<5> kg in 23.9mm slim full-flat body, makes it easy to carry around in a bag. Its aluminium palm rest and magnesium body enable it to be so thin and light while maintaining ruggedness for mobile use. The hinge is not visible from the front, offering a clean and simple look around the display, so you can focus on what's on the screen. A more spacious palm rest and touch pad area contributes to comfortable usability. Also, the six-sided edge design provides an attractive look no matter what angle VAIO S Series is being viewed from. This construction succeeds in realising superior robustness and structural integrity.

Usability for smooth operation

To further increase the usability, it comes with backlit keyboard, making it easier to type in dimly lit rooms such as during your flight or in a conference room. It also incorporates a touchpad with multi-gesture functions for users working without a mouse. These functions support three major finger motions: scrolling through pages, moving backwards and forwards on web pages, and zooming in and out. In addition, the 'WEB' button allows speedy access to the web browsing without booting up the operation system. There is also a dedicated 'ASSIST' button. It gives one-touch access to VAIO Care which simplifies basic maintenance and troubleshooting tasks to keep your VAIO in good condition.

Quick Boot and fast operation with SSD

VAIO S Series that comes with SSD6 features Quick Boot and fast operation. With this Quick Boot feature, it starts up the computer just within 17 seconds<6> from shut down. This is very convenient for the users who do not want to waste any minute at work and study.

Advanced LCD

The new series comes with 13.3 inch wide screen with 1366 x768 resolutions for the fast and smooth operation. The LCD has anti-reflective glossy finish, which means it has coated with low reflective coating on the surface. This provides a high contrast image, and is easy on the eyes.

The new VAIO S series is available across all Sony Center and other major electronic outlets in India. It is available in Black, Silver, White, Blue and Pink to lets you choose the one that suits your style.
