Jaipur Gems Charitable Trust is proud to present you with its annual music programme "Udaan" that made a successful debut last year, aiming to unite listeners and performers of Hindustani music. This music series of Udaan is an attempt for the listener to help promote and support the rising stars and future legends of Indian classical music.

The Udaan music programme this year will be held at:Ravindra Natya Mandir on the 14th of August 2011 at 7:00 pm

This year Jaipur Gems Charitable Trust "Udaan" is pleased to present vocalist Purvi Parikh, a renowned "khayal" singer from the "Kirana Gharana". Her performance will be preceded by scholarship artists who belong to music families, decided to take two different paths. Scholarship artist and vocalists, Ramakant Gaikwad who trained under his father, Shri Suryakant Gaikwad is continuing his family's parampara of the "Patiala Gharana". Scholarship artist, Hassan Haider Khan, son of great Shahnai maestro Ustad Ali Ahmad Hussain Khan will be playing shahnai.

Each year Jaipur Gems Charitable Trust presents a scholarship to young budding artists where junior and senior artistes are given a platform to showcase their talent to music enthusiasts. From this year Udaan will also aim at showcasing the performance of a mature artist who is making waves in the community of music. Udaan has definitely proved to be a platform for artists to enhance their skills and present their craft further more to fellow music lovers in India.
