Madhavaraj V. Sirsi, founder of ArtLabs says, “ArtLabs is a centre for support and development of visual art encompassing the methods and medium of portrayal apart from constant training and consistence practice.”

ArtLabs has over the years strived to promote art and encourage artists. In May 2010, ArtLabs organized a multi-artist painting exhibition by 24 artists. This was followed by a play in Kannada and English about experience and experimentation of expression. There was also the staging of the Greek play ‘Birds’ written by Arestophenes adapted in English and directed by Uday Sosale and ‘Ganeshana Swagatha’, a Kannada soliloquy as part of the event. In June 2010, ArtLabs organized an exhibition of lithograph, line drawings, pen and ink on paper and fashion accessories design. In July 2010, ArtLabs organized the Pluvia Monsoon retreat which was curated by Giridhar Khasnis and showcased the work of 9 artists and in the same month, ArtLabs also staged the Kannada play – Mooru Kasina Sangeetha at Ravindra Kalakshetra.

Later in September 2010 “EQUUS”, a learning and working with horses workshop curated by Giridhar Khasnis was organized at the Bangalore Turf Club, which saw participation by over 10 artists. In November 2010, Art Labs with JMS Mani organized the print-making workshop. In June 2011, a national painting camp conveyed by JMS Mani was organized, which saw participation by over 16 artists from across the country. The great response and overwhelming success of the above initiatives has now motivated Art Labs to organize “Kala Samaavesha,”- the four-day exhibition of paintings, sculpture and graphics.

Sandhya, artist and co-founder of Art Labs states, “The exhibition aims to create awareness about the activities organized by Art Labs. We also want to create a platform for artists to create and showcase their work and to act as a platform for networking with the elements of art.”
