Pantaloons launches Ponds Femina Miss India 2006 collection

Pantaloons, India’s leading fashion and lifestyle destination store unveiled a new collection designed exclusively by leading designer Anita Dongre at an evening function in Mumbai. The collection was showcased at a fashion show which saw the 25 finalists of the Ponds Femina Miss India 2006 beauty pageant walk the ramp with the gorgeous outfits. It was an evening of glitz and glamour with leading personalities from the world of fashion and glamour present at the launch.

The entire collection is very young and trendy targeting the young customer and women who are young at heart and are ready to experiment with their looks. The silhouettes as well as the color palette are inspired by the aspiration of these young beauties. The collection has been created specially keeping in mind the contestants from the beauty pageant.

Showcasing the new collection Ms Anita Dongre, leading designer said, “The collection is very unique as it gives every young girl in this country a chance to dress up like Miss India 2006 beauty pageant contestants. The idea of the collection which came from Pantaloons excited me a lot; it has been created keeping in mind the young and fashion conscious girls of the Miss India 2006 beauty pageant. Having worked hard for the past few months on creating the collection which has eight lines, it gives me great satisfaction as this evening it got an overwhelming response from the fashion fraternity. Surely, the bright colours, fresh look and the sophisticated design will make it a hit with every fashion conscious woman in this country!”

The new collection which has eight lines will be available in all the Pantaloons outlets across the country. In keeping with its promise of fresh fashion, Pantaloons plans to strengthen it relationship with various leading designers to launch new collections and associate with similar events in the future.

Some of the distinct designs in the collection include Jewel embellished T shirts with denim skirts, Printed as well as tie-n-dye net skirts with Lycra tees.

New silhouettes include long embroidered tunics with capris as well as asymmetrical tops paired with capris.

Another show stopper was tops in chikan embroidery paired with hot pants as well as the Mirchi collection – A collection of tops and bottoms inspired by red and yellow pepper.
