Ajay Gahlaut and Sudip Bandyopadhyay, who were partners in copy and art respectively at Rediffusion DY&R, Delhi, have been brought in as Creative Director’s, McCann Erickson, Mumbai.
They would be reporting to Mr. Prasoon Joshi, Regional Creative Director South & South East Asia.
They both added that “McCann as an agency is on an upswing and with Prasoon Joshi at its Creative helm, the agency is certainly the best place to be in, in the advertising industry.
The duo have worked on some well known brands such as Airtel, GM, Chevrolet Tavera, Hindustan Times, Hutch, Dabur brands an the Pulse Polio Campaigns with Amitabh Bachan and the other film stars.
Besides being a part of the Pulse Polio programme, Ajay was also part of the team that came out with the arresting campaign for Hindustan Times, where the brief was to up the image in the brand SEC A. With the taglines such as ‘Makes you look good’ and ‘let there be light’, the campaign was successful in targeting its audience.
Besides doing notable work, the duo has won a silver at the Abbys and a bronze at AAAI for the work titled “ The Banana mountain” done for PVR cinemas promoting the movie “ King Kong” Their work for I-Pod won a nomination at Cannes Lion this year. Their past wins include a Bronze at Cannes for Concern India Foundation, when they were at O&M and a silver at the Effies for the Pulse Polio in 2004.
