After witnessing a steady growth in viewers over the course of its first season brought to you only on HBO earlier this year, HBO Original Series, TrueBlood is back with Season 2, staging a beautifully shot Southern Gothic story’s comeback, most endearing to fantasy seekers. With more supernatural twists and suspense, the new season of TrueBlood has supremely spooky plot twists to run an icy finger down your spine! The Season 2 of TrueBlood premiere picks up from at the exact moment we left off in Season 1, beginning November 1, 2009 after the 9pm movie (11:15 PM) only on HBO.

Created by Academy Award Winner Alan Ball of American Beauty and Six Feet Under fame, TrueBlood has won about 20 awards, including the Golden Globe, the Emmy, the Scream, and has had 25 nominations since it was first aired on HBO last year. TrueBlood truly has the Ball reflection, given the director’s panache at picking critical acclaims and numerous awards, including an Academy Award, an Emmy and a Golden Globe.

Based on the popular second novel of Charlaine Harris’ The Southern Vampire Mysteries - Living Dead in Dallas, Season 2 of TrueBlood returns with Anna Pacquin as Sookie Stackhouse, the perky telepathic waitress in love with the irresistibly attractive vampire, Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer). In Season 2 of TrueBlood, the mystery surrounding a serial killer is finally solved in the backwoods Louisiana town of Bon Temps. But just as things are settling down, deadly new twists threaten Sookie and everyone around her.

Season 2 of TrueBlood is scary and often wildly funny, with all the supernatural trappings to boot. The new season not only takes the love story forward with the demonic and ‘bloodcurdlingly’ dark funny twists, but also introduces sub-plots involving the anti-vampire Fellowship of the Sun Church; Sookie’s slow-witted brother Jason’s indoctrination into the church; expanded role of Maryann Forrester, the powerful supernatural creature, who gradually gains control over the people of Bon Temps.

Commenting on the launch of the most awaited Season 2 of TrueBlood, Shruti Bajpai, Country Manager, HBO South Asia said, "With the immense success that TrueBlood Season 1 garnered, we are delighted to bring a brand new season of this popular show for our Indian audience. TrueBlood is an unprecedented series on vampires and represents outstanding programming featuring action, adventure, thrill and romance. Excellence in programming is what HBO is known for and this path breaking series is a testimony of the same towards our audiences."

Don’t miss the TrueBlood experience.

Season 2 of TrueBlood premieres on November 1 (Sunday) at 11:15 pm; thereafter every Sunday after the 9pm movie. Repeats every Saturday at 7pm.

THERE’S MORE TO THE DRAMA:

* TrueBlood Season 1 was the highest rated TV series this year across all channels

* It is also the third highest rating series in India after Blood Of the Templars and Sex and the City

* The premiere of Season 2 of TrueBlood  on June 14, 2009 drew 3.7 million viewers in the US, making it the most-watched programme on HBO since the series finale of The Sopranos.
