CNN-IBN presents a special report on the 10th anniversary of 'The Kandahar Hijack'

On the 10th anniversary of the infamous Kandahar hijacking, CNN-IBN brings an exclusive show that captures the personal memories and versions of the passengers and crew of the ill-fated IC 814. The special show features some key political figures like former Foreign Minister – Jaswant Singh; former Home Minister – L K Advani, former National Security Advisor to the PM – Brajesh Mishra along with an exclusive interview with the Superintendent of Police who released Maulana Masood Azhar in response to the terrorists’ demands. The special show ‘Kandhar Hijack’ will be aired on 26th December, Saturday @ 9:30 PM and 27th December, Sunday @ 11:30 AM and 9:30 PM and relive the memories of how India brought an end to the IC 814 hijack.

The show also features the families of those on board to revisits the 180 hours of hijacking ordeal that shook the entire nation. The show will use the gripping footage taken at that time to bring forth the fear, sympathy and anger that ruled those seven days when the IC 814 was hijacked with 189 passengers on board on its way to New Delhi from Kathmandu.

Speaking on the occasion, Rajdeep Sardesai, Editor-in-Chief, IBN18 Network, said, "Through this special show we have tried to revisit the hijacking ordeal that took place 10 years ago. The passengers, crew members and politicians will account for the infamous hijacking that shook the entire nation."
