Fever 104 FM, Bangalore’s popular Kannada music station recently celebrated Makar Sankranti, the harvest festival with its listeners. As a part of the celebrations, Fever 104 FM organized exciting on-air and on-ground activities, to ensure listener delight and celebrate the fervour and gaiety of the festival.
Since Fever 104 FM is the official radio partner of Ramesh Aravind’s upcoming movie Crazy Kutumba, they thought of an interesting way to celebrate this Kutumba festival with its listeners. They asked the listeners to SMS why their families were the craziest Kutumbas, and the respondents of the 2 best answers got the chance to welcome Ramesh Aravind into their homes on the day of Makar Sankranti. The popular Dollu Kunitha band accompanied the Sandalwood star to the winners’ house where he gave the winners the customary Yellubella. The lucky winners Suma & Vasu, greeted the star with warm wishes & celebrated the joy of the harvest festival with him.
Apart from this on the 14th, Fever 104 integrated a festival ritual in its Special Sankranti Contest. As part of the tradition, families distribute Yellubella to their relatives and friends and wish them by saying ‘Yellubella Thindu, Olle Olle Maathu aadi’. So, the Fever 104 jocks had to eat some part of the traditional prasadam and say something Shubh, and the listeners had to guess what they were saying to win vouchers.
To keep the excitement going, the Fever 104 evening show jocks and Ramesh Aravind also did a special edition of Burude Blast incorporating elements of the festival and the star’s upcoming movie ‘Crazy Kutumba’. The Sandalwood star also did a special interview along with the film’s music director, Ricky Kej, when Fever 104 exclusively launched the songs on-air 11th of Jan onwards. The radio station is also planning listener ‘Meet & Greet’ initiative, movie ticket giveaways, movie prop giveaways and loads of other exciting goodies, as part of its tie-up with the movie.
Speaking on the initiative, says Ms Anjali Paul, Station Head, Fever 104 FM, Bangalore, said "Fever 104 FM, Bengalurina Bombaat Music Station, is very pleased to celebrate this harvest festival with our loyal Kannada listeners. We are thankful to Ramesh Aravind who partnered with us & helped us make this occasion so special. We would like to extend our best wishes to the entire cast & crew of Crazy Kutumba & wish them great success. We hope the audiences enjoyed our Makar Sankranti celebrations & had a memorable time with us."
