As Indian Republic completes its 60 years this 26th January; IBN7, India's leading Hindi news channel presents a range of special programming to mark the occasion. Starting January 19th, the programming will cover a gamut of issues impacting India and its citizens. These range from the Fundamental Rights granted to all Indians to the landmark events of independent India that have shaped the country to the visionaries who have made a positive impact on our lives.

With ‘Jay He – 60 Varsh’, a winning line-up of special programs for the Republic Day, IBN7 hopes not just to provide its viewers with an engaging viewing experience but also celebrate the manifold aspects of India which make us unique as a nation. Some of the programs that IBN7 will showcase include:
* Jay He - Mission 2050 will bring together experts from different walks of life to discuss the course India needs to take in the next forty years in crucial fields such as the law / judiciary, politics, society, health, education. The show will peep into the future and look at the vision of India for the year 2050 when our republic will complete a hundred years. This special hour long show will go on air on Feb 6th at 8 PM with a repeat telecast on Feb 8th at 12 noon.
* Taqdeer Banayi Humne will showcase ten landmark events of independent India. These range from the Green Revolution which provided India with self sufficiency in meeting its food grain demands to the Maruti Car which revolutionized the auto industry and the Information & Communication Revolution through the Personal Computer, the introduction of the internet and the rapid spread of mobile telephony throughout the country. The series will also include bytes from the luminaries who played a pivotal role in that particular event. For instance the segment on the telecommunication revolution will include a byte from Sam Pitroda who is widely considered to be the father of this revolution. These will be telecast starting a week prior to the Republic Day in form of interesting graphic-led vignettes of 2-3 minutes duration which will be aired throughout the day.
* Gantantra Ke Sipahi is a show focusing on the visionaries whose landmark initiatives have impacted our lives and changed them for the better. These would include crusaders like social activist Arvind Kejrival whose vigorous campaign for transparency in public life resulted in the Right to Information Act being passed and the outspoken former Chief Election Commisioner T.N. Seshan who brought in much needed election reforms even in the face of opposition by politicians. The programming will include small segments to be telecast through the day starting a week prior to the Republic Day.
* Bollywood Blockbuster – Awara: The highly acclaimed film from the Raj Kapoor factory was released just when India became republic almost 60 years ago. This special show will talk about various interesting facts related to the film and recall the making of the film. The show will be telecast at 8:30 PM on 22nd January.
