Mutual funds have been a major source of investment in both government and corporate securities. Over the past decade there have been dramatic improvements in both, the quality and the numbers of mutual funds in India. According to the data released by the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI), the mutual fund industry’s average assets under management (AAUM) were pegged at Rs 7.81 lakh Crore in February 2010.

But there’s still a large chunk of savings that can still be brought under the purview of mutual funds. Continuing their mission of Investor education and with an aim of increasing the awareness on investments in mutual funds, Canara Robeco and CNBC TV18 will present Sustainable Wealth Creation Forum in Ahmedabad, Bangalore and Pune. The forum would be held in Ahmedabad on March 13, 2010, Bangalore on March 20, 2010, and Pune on March 27, 2010.
The on-ground forums will bring the investors face-to-face with India’s biggest Mutual Fund experts who will guide them on maximizing returns in mutual funds through systematic investment plans and factors to look at while choosing a scheme. The experts will educate the investors on starting their financial planning with mutual funds and achieve long term goals with them. The initiative moderated by Vivek Law, CNBC-TV18’s National Editor, aims at guiding the investors towards sustainable wealth creation.
Speaking on the initiative CNBC-TV18 spokesperson said, "CNBC-TV18 has always been committed towards Investor Education. The Mutual Fund camps will further this cause by meeting the investors directly and guiding them on all their queries regarding investment in Mutual Funds."
Supporting the initiative, Rajnish Narula, Chief Executive Officer, Canara Robeco Mutual Fund said, "Through the ‘Sustainable Wealth Creation Forum, Canara Robeco endeavors to take investment education to retail investors, by demystifying investing for them. The forum will cut through the clutter to give investors a better understanding to construct their portfolio. We are confident that the forum will counter indispensable questions related to investments in general with particular reference to mutual funds.
