Sidhesh holds sway-in Amrita TV’s Super Star-2 Finale

Sidhesh kept his rendezvous with Destiny when he edged out the competition to carry the day, in the Grand Finale of Amrita TV's trailblazing reality show, Super Star-2.

He began his reign on a high note, by becoming the proud owner of a brand new apartment awarded as the 1st prize by Travancore Builders, moments after the title was conferred on him by matinee idol Shri Jayaram and receiving the winner’s certificate from cine artist Navya Nair, both of whom were Chief Guests at the Gala event.

The other 2 finalists of the musical tournament, Nikhil Raj had to be content with the 2nd spot and the handsome purse of 5 lakhs while Sujith Lal who brought up the 3rd position came away with a booty of Rs.3 lakhs.

On the momentous evening, all the 3 contenders arrived with musical aces hidden up their sleeves that would give them the whip hand in the Finale which consisted of 1 solo, 1 individual medley and a group round.

In the1st round, Sidhesh’s rendering of the hauntingly melodious 'Rama Katha' in which he literally sang his heart out was evenly matched by Sujith Lal’s classical 'Sankara' and Nikhil’s 'Soona Soona'.

As each of the 3 displayed their musical feats before a spellbound audience, the SMS votes that had the percentages fluctuating, kept the winner’s spot see-sawing between the trio.

In between the tense musical encounters, there were melodious interludes by Sangeeth and Parvathy , winners of Super Star-1 and Super Star Junior-2 respectively; a snappy singing performance of ‘Pappu Cant Dance Sala’ by 10 eliminated contestants of the show, a dazzling keyboard demonstration of talent by the one-man orchestra Stephen Devassy etc.

In the tussle for Super stardom, Sidhesh inched ahead of the opposition in a photo finish of a competition and pulled off a coup, to emerge as the next Super Star.
