On Monday morning, Radio Mirchi listeners got a glimpse into the men behind the madness, the upcoming blockbuster from Yash Raj Films - Lafangey Parindey. Director Pradeep Sarkar, music director R Anandh, lyricist Swanand Kirkire and debutant singer Ronit Sarkar were live on Mumbai's No. 1 morning show 'Hi Mumbai' with RJ Jeeturaaj.
The gifted director spoke about various aspects of Lafange Parindey - which stars the striking pair of Neil Nitin Mukesh & Deepika Padukone. He said, "Before this movie, I had only looked at Mumbai as an advertising man, but when Gopi Puthran, the writer of the film, took me across the city and showed me different facets of the city, I now look at the city with a very different, a very sensitive and beautiful perspective."
Pradeep Da, as he is fondly called, said that the music of the film had a youthful feel and was of the rock genre. Mirchi listeners were pleasantly surprised when they heard the feisty track, Dhatad Tatad sung by Shail Hada and Anushka Manchanda. Enthused on hearing the composition, Mirchi listeners called in to congratulate the gang present and said that the single creates the perfect atmosphere for ushering in Mumbai's much-loved 'Ganesh Utsav'.
The title track, 'Lafangey Parindey' marks the debut of 18 year old Ronit Sarkar's entry into Bollywood. Lauding his son's performance, Pradeep Sarkar said, 'It's a very lively track and Ronit has sung it with full gusto. R Anandh, talking about the music of the film said, "Swanand Kirkire has lent a completely different touch to the tracks with his filmy, masala lyrics. Also, this is the first time Mohit Chauhan has yodelled in this film!"
'Lafangey Parindey' traces the lives, ambition and romance between the die-hard fighter, One Shot Nandu and the blind yet ambitious dancer, Pinky Palkar played with great zest by Neil Nitin Mukesh and Deepika Padukone. The film is set to release on 20th August.
