Red FM's mega hunt for Kolkata's ultimate Comedy Raja came to an end on 7th August with the four finalists battling and trying to out-wit each other at the grand finale of RED FM - 'Ey Kolkatar Comedy Raja'. The winner Suronjeet Karmakar was crowned the "Red FM-ey Kolkatar Comedy Raja" and was awarded a trophy and certificate from Red FM along with a cash prize. Additionally, he won an opportunity of his lifetime to perform LIVE on Red FM!
The four finalists were selected through a one-of-a-kind comedy hunt on Red FM and were mentored by ace comedian, Kanchan Mullick. This hilarious evening was judged by Kanchan Mullick, actor & director Deboleena Dutta and the budding talent Rudoneel Ghosh. RJ Praveen & Vineet, the event's emcees, had the audience in splits with their witty remarks throughout the evening. The Grand Finale was interspersed with Bangla Band 'Prachir's' performances.

Suronjeet Karmarkar, a student of the Birati Mahajati Vidya Mandir, started doing comedy since 2000 when he was in class 11. He is a dedicated radio listener and loves to participate in radio contests. He has participated in various stand-up comedy shows in the past. The other three finalists competing for the most coveted title were - Subhasis, Abeer Basu and Alok Biswas.
RED FM provided a magnificent platform for their listeners in Kolkata to showcase their wit, humour, spontaneity and their 'Bajaate Raho!' quotient. This has been the most successful comedy hunt airing on radio for the first time. Grumpy 'Gomra Mukhopadyay', had challenged RED FM to amuse and make him laugh. Comedy Guru, Kanchanda along with RED FM RJs selected the best comic talents from Kolkata and groomed them. Of these, only four humorous contestants managed to reach the Grand Finale and made Gomra eat his words!
