UTI Mutual Fund and CNBC-TV18 presents the 'Individual Financial Advisors Forum 2010' in Mumbai

UTI Mutual Fund and CNBC-TV18, India's No. 1 Business medium organised the 'Individual Financial Advisors Forum 2010' in Mumbai on Monday, October 18 at YB Chavan Auditorium, Mantralay. The 'Individual Financial Advisors Forum' a precursor to the 'Financial Advisor Awards 2010' is a platform which provides a fillip to the knowledge database of India's financial advisors. This forum is traveling across important cities to help the Individual Financial Advisors share and gain insights from thought leaders in this category.

The panel for the forum consisted of Mr. Gaurav Mashruwala, a Financial planner, Mr. U.K Sinha, Chairman and Managing Director, UTI Asset Management Company, Mr. C. Jayaram, Executive Director, Kotak Mahindra and Mr. Vivek Law, National Editor, CNBC TV 18 who discussed and addressed various issues and queries concerning the Individual Financial Advisors.

After the slowdown, majority of the Investors were sceptical and weighed every investment decision they made. During that unstable phase, the Individual Financial Advisors changed their strategies to adapt to the dynamic transition from trying times and successfully created wealth for investors. In their role, the Individual Financial Advisors not only helped regain the lost confidence of the Investors' but also acted as purveyors for much needed capital for wealth creation in the economy.

UTI Mutual Fund and CNBC-TV18 also conducted a contest for the Individual Financial Advisors (AUM less than 1 Crore). The contest involved filling of one's basic details and answers to questions under 14 A of the 'Individual Financial Advisors' registration form. The winners were selected by ICRA after a detailed examination of all the entries.

Mangla H Komatwar (Aurangabad), Amol Sadashiv Bhosle (Thane), Mahesh Madhukar Namjoshi (Lotus Court), Prakash Ranade (Vashi), Sandesh Khanolkar (Panaji), Chaya Amit Jain (JVPD), Vilas Tapre (Pune) and Swapnil S Kulkarni (Thane) were announced winners who won themselves a certificate undersigned by Mr. Vivek Law-National Editor, CNBC- TV18, Mr. L Shivakumar-Senior Group Vice President & Head - Western region, ICRA Limited and Mr. U.K.SINHA Chairman and Managing Director, UTI Asset Management Company. They also won a direct nomination for the Special Jury Award at the 'Financial Advisor Awards 2010' along with a Plasma TV from CNBC TV18.

Speaking on the initiative, Mr. Vivek Law, National Editor, CNBC -TV18 said, "The Individual Financial Advisor Forums held as a precursor to the Financial Advisor Awards 2010 offer the Individual Financial Advisors a platform to interact with the experts in the field. They not only help them with a better understanding for the investment scenario but also with an avenue to get their queries answered by the experts. The forums are aimed at helping them get an in-depth knowledge in the field to help them dispense better advice to their clients."

Speaking on the occasion Mr U K Sinha, Chairman and Managing Director, UTI Asset Management Company Ltd. said "The Financial Advisor Awards is an initiative to recognise the critical role that financial advisors play in the India's wealth creation process. The award is recognition for the best financial advisors across cities and categories."
