Dr. Prathap Reddy, Founder, Apollo Hospital Group, a pioneer who revolutionised medical infrastructure in India, explored ground-breaking ideas in healthcare last night on Pioneering Spirit - A product of Lufthansa. He selected Ashish Dhawad, CEO Medsynaptic, as a potential 'pioneer of tomorrow' after carefully evaluating the plans of three healthcare entrepreneurs featured on the show.
Dr Reddy admitted he was faced with a difficult choice while making the selection. "All three entrepreneurs demonstrated not just the wish list of today's healthcare, but where it is going," he said, adding that he chose Medsynaptic because this technology was needed "to fill a huge void in healthcare."
Medsynaptic has been recognized as one of the most innovative companies in India today. It provides medical imaging solutions that enable digital storage and distribution of images, making it possible to transfer images from remote locations using low bandwidth, so that patients can receive emergency reports from radiologists located anywhere in the world.
As the winner, Ashish Dhawad was awarded a coveted mentorship by TiE. He was also presented a free return Business Class ticket to Europe by James Paul, Central Project and Process Manager, India, on behalf of Lufthansa India.
In a fascinating interview with ET Now Senior Editor Shaili Chopra, Dr Reddy recounted his vision to introduce a discipline of "process, professionalism and accountable end result" into the healthcare domain with Apollo, India's first corporate hospital group.
