A complete change from the previous Cookery show, 'Oggarane Dabbi' aims at traveling to different locations and exploring local cuisines in their very place of origin. The show shall in the process bring out the essence of the land and hundreds of tales that each kitchen plays host to. From the coastal belt of Mangalore to the lush green terrain of Coorg, from the arid plains of North Karnataka to the rich paddy fields of Mandya, 'Oggarane Dabbi' will showcase cuisines from across the state, thereby helping preserve the age old recipes for posterity. It is a simple show with no frills attached. The focus is on cooking with ingredients available in a woman's kitchen.
"Zee is a pioneer in Cookery shows with 'Khana Khazana' having become a household name. Zee Kannada's 'Oggarane Dabbi' will bring to our viewers the most authentic cuisine of Karnataka right from their place of origin" Mr. Gautham Machaiah, Zee's south head has stated.
Every episode would have 5 segments starting with a tasting session at a famous restaurant followed by 2 segments being shot at localites' houses, 1 segment with a famous chef talking about quick meals and ending with Ammana Kairuchi which would talk about simple dishes of these local cuisines.
