The Free Press Journal, the Mumbai-based newspaper that has been a strong Indian voice for eight decades, packs a punch and is lapped up by young readers looking for a product that breaks away from the mould to provide news, views and perspectives that are rarely played elsewhere.

The FPJ has in recent years moved quietly but firmly to make an impression on the minds of Mumbaikars and its neighbouring districts - so reveals a readership survey from the Hansa Research Group, an independent agency who are also conducting IRS Survey.

The findings of the survey came as a pleasant surprise in a market known as much for noisy campaigns as it is for large spends by media houses to promote their standing.

On the other hand, the FPJ has been working quietly on the product - adding value, building coverage and gaining strength on its editorial pages to deliver a newspaper that is different, relevant, young and does not hesitate to make its point. All this at Re.1 a day!

Our readership profile give the details of the Survey and throw light that 64% of FPJ readers are in the age group of 21 - 40 yrs.

Says, Abhishek Karnani, Directors of the Free Press Group, " We are pleasantly surprised with the results of Hansa Research Survey about our Free Press Journal publication that more than 64% of readers belongs to youth category. We continuously are striving hard to provide quality content and up to date news. We are also focusing our energies to enrich the value for our readers and advertisers."

Even a casual glance at the survey results shows that the market is ripe for a paper that has standing and yet dares to be different. That is how and why as many as 60 per cent FPJ readers pour over the newspaper from two hours to thirty minutes. As many as 40 per cent of FPJ readers not look at the Times of India.

In this age when young audiences are looking for credibility, perspectives and coverage that takes into account the common concerns of the people, the survey shows that FPJ is turning out to be a winner.
