94.3 MY FM brings joy among 1,027 prisoners with 7 days reprieve from Jail

For the first time ever in the history of India, 94.3 MY FM, in it's out of the box and uncanny effort, spread cheerfulness among thousands of inmates of Raipur Central jail. As the six week long cricket tournament gets underway every one has been gripped by the cricket fever. With this campaign, MY FM intended to take the same excitement and high spirits to these cricket enthusiasts so that they can have a chance to rejoice and have a time of their life.

About 1,027 prisoners participated in a cricket match opposite the MY FM team and approximately eight hundred spectators came forward to cheer their favorite team which in turn made for a fun filled and incredible experience. 94.3 MY FM shared happiness and contentment with these cricket buffs so that they can display their flair for cricket and get rewarded in return.

The enthusiasm and vigor displayed by the prisonners was outstanding which witnessed their victory within no time. Looking at this ardor of theirs, the Jail Superintendant & DG of Raipur jail gave pardon of imprisonment of 7 days to all 1,027 prisoners. In its true 'Jiyo Dil Se' form, My FM team involved themselves in the activity and made sure that the each and everyone gets an opportunity to play and prove their ability.

Mr. Rajesh Chouhan who is an international sports star from Raipur also participated eagerly as the captain of My FM team. The activity was not only limited to on ground activities but was also largely promoted through on air announcements, teasers and RJ mentions, thereby attracting all possible listeners. RJ Ronit in one of his shows Salam Raipur received around eighty calls from the listeners who appreciated and praised the initiative.

Along with the presence of several media houses, My FM invited a team of 60 journalism students, who were given special permission to visit the jail premises to cover and write about this unique initiative.

Mr Harrish Bhatia, CEO, MY FM, commenting on the significance of this noble cause said, "This is a truly innovative idea. Through this initiative 94.3 MY FM wanted to set a benchmark in the society by engaging each and every one possible in this cricket mania. Reaching out to these prisoners was our way to let them know that they are no less and should also have their share of fun and leisure. We congratulate the prisoners and appreciate the kind of enthusiasm they have shown."
