The mega production of one the biggest Indian epics of all time - The Ramayana redefined Radio as an industry. It successfully revitalized radio listenership to a higher level all together. The freshness of its out of the box programming proved to be a complete theatre of the mind for radio listeners. The star cast comprising of renowned artists such as Naseeruddin Shah, Anupam Kher and Om Puri only added to the fervour.

The show, along with entertaining its listeners also managed to connect them to their roots in an intrinsic manner. Innate messages of love, brotherhood and faith of the Ramayana were effectively dispensed during the course of both the Hindi as well as the Kannada versions of the show.

Each year the contest receives entries from radio stations across the world, which is then judged by The Grand Jury comprising of top level industry professionals from 5 continents and over 25 countries. Entries are judged based on their production values, organization, presentation of information, creativity, and use of the medium. The competition seeks to honour the most innovative work in radio broadcasting. The New York festival over the years adapts to the changing trends in the radio industry and worldwide programming by continually adjusting its categories according to what is prevalent.

Mr. S Keerthivasan, Business Head, Fever 104 FM, said, “The entire Fever team is ecstatic to have received a Gold for Fever Radio Ramayana, considering each and every member of the team has contributed to its success one way or the other. I am very proud that our innovation & quality work has been recognized at a world stage. It was a mammoth task to do justice to an epic such as the Ramayana, from the casting to each and every sound effect such that the scenes come alive in the consumer’s mind was an enormous challenge for our programming team, led ably by Gaurav Sharma. We hope to continuously come up with such initiatives in the future that not only delight our listeners but are a thrill to work on too.”
